About registration in the Central Coordinating Register for Legal Entities

All sole proprietorships and associations are entitled to register with the Central Coordinated Register for Legal Entities (Register for Legal Entities). By registering here the entity receives an organisation number.

A registration in the Central Coordinating Register for Legal Entitiess can be done online through Altinn by submitting the form Samordnet registermelding (Coordinated Register Notification). Be aware of the required attachments and signatures, including electronic signature.

Many choose to register in the Register of Legal Entities primarily to get an organisation number, which is required in order to open a bank account for the entity. This number is also used by public authorities to coordinate information about the entity.

If you are required to register in one of the other major public registers (such as the Register of Business Enterprises, the VAT register or the Register of Employers and Employees), you also need to register with the Central Coordinating Register of Legal Entities.

Non-profit organisations that want to join the 'Grassroots share' or apply for VAT compensation, must be registered in the Register of Non-Profit Organizations, and hence also in the Central Coordinating Register for Legal Entities.

Registration in the Central Coordinating Register for Legal Entities is free of charge.
