ID-porten is the primary way to log in to Altinn, and is a common log-in solution for many Norwegian public services.

Altinn alternative log-in methods
From October 2023, it will no longer be possible to log in with SMS, password, business certificate or codes from code letters. We recommend that you use MinID or another login method through ID-porten. This does not apply to machine-to-machine communication (accounting and payroll system). It will still be possible to log in with an enterprise certificate there. You may still be able to log into the accounting and payroll system with SMS code or an Altinn code letter until this is gradually phased out.
