Approval of repairer of electrical equipment the use of which is associated with particular risk, including electromedical equipment

Criteria/conditions: 

The following is required of the applicant:

Formal trade certificate in electronic computing and electronics, a master's degree inelectronics (technical college or university), a bachelor's degree in electronics (university of technology), passed examination on completion of two-year technical college in electronics or a programme of study that results in corresponding competence.

The programme of study must cover a combination of subjects whereby the applicant has achieved relevant electrical competence to repair electromedical equipment.

For all types of education, the applicant is required to document three years' relevant technical and administrative practice in repair of electromedical equipment in a hospital or with a manufacturer of electromedical equipment.

In order to achieve three years' practice, the applicant must receive guidance from someone who has already been approved, and a plan for theoretical instruction and practical training must exist.

The training plan must cover the following as a minimum:
Expected competence on completing the training.
An instruction plan, describing both theoretical instruction and practical training.
Description of instruction material for the theoretical part.
Description of the practical training.
Description of the evaluation system.

The instruction plan must cover the following as a minimum:
Description of acts, regulations and standards applicable to the discipline area.
Anatomy and physiology.
Repairs of electromedical equipment.
Measuring techniques for electromedical equipment.
Hygiene.

Only practical training received after completion of relevant education will be recognised.

Case processing deadlines:

The Directorate for Civil Protection and Emergency Planning shall confirm receipt of your application within one month after its reception and provide information on any missing documents or deficiencies in the application.
The DSB shall have completed the processing of the application within three months after a complete application was submitted.

Fee:

The Directorate for Civil Protection and Emergency Planning does not charge a fee for processing an application for authorisation.

Right of appeal:

When the Directorate for Civil Protection and Emergency Planning has made a decision, you have the opportunity to appeal this decision according to the rules in the Public Administration Act, Chapter VI.
