Authorisation of taxidermist

Authorisation from the Norwegian Environment Agency is required in order to prepare game for commercial purposes or to prepare notifiable game.

About this form

Criteria/conditions:

The applicant is required to have a trade certificate in taxidermy. Authorisation may also be granted to individuals who have passed an examination in another country that is equivalent to the level of the Norwegian journeyman's test.

Remarks:

Authorisation from the Norwegian Environment Agency is required in order to prepare and mount wild animals for display on a commercial basis as well as wild animals subject to a registration requirement. Only individuals can be authorised, not companies or other associations.

Applications should be sent via email to the Norwegian Environment Agency.

Case processing deadlines:

The Norwegian Environment Agency must acknowledge receipt of your application within one month after receiving it and notify you of any missing documents or deficiencies.

Following the submission of a complete application, the Norwegian Environment Agency should complete processing your application within three months.

Fee:

No fee is required for this type of application.

Right of appeal:

Once the Norwegian Environment Agency has made a decision, you have the right to appeal this decision in accordance with the rules in Chapter VI of the Public Administration Act.
